Tip: The best way to learn BOLO is to run small test generations. Creating one to three chapters usually costs only a few cents and quickly shows how the workflow behaves.
Note: Because BOLO is a new application, your browser or Windows may show a security warning during download. This is normal for newly released software.
Before you begin
BOLO uses the OpenAI API to generate text. To use the program, you need your own OpenAI API key.
How to get your OpenAI API key

Go to:
https://platform.openai.com/api-keys

Sign in if needed (you can use Google, Apple, Microsoft or email).

Click Create new secret key and save it.

Open Billing in the left menu and add a small amount (for example $5 to start).

Paste the key into BOLO and start generating.
This usually takes just a few minutes.
You only pay for what you generate. Small tests typically cost in the tens of cents.
Buy a license
Customers can test first, then choose the license period that fits their work. BOLO keeps the license cost low, while AI generation is paid separately through your own OpenAI API key only when you actually produce content.
Low monthly cost, pay for generation only when needed. Unlike many AI writing services with high monthly subscriptions, BOLO uses your own OpenAI API key. Typical generation costs are often about $1–3 for a nonfiction book and about $6–10 for a fiction book, depending on length, workflow and model usage.

BOLO is optimized for structured nonfiction workflows. Fiction support exists in beta, but the product is not positioned as a chat-style writing tool.
